My goal is to cultivate a lifelong love of music through expressive and technically sound cello playing. I work with students and adults starting at age 10, no previous experience necessary. As a performing musician who navigated an unconventional path, I prioritize artistic agency, proficiency and courage. My teaching style has been honed by real-world experience in training and performance environments.
I facilitate learning from the position that music is a global language, and that there is more than one approach to everything. Drawing from several resources and methods, I tailor my teaching to the individual needs of each student, making sure to cover standardized milestones along the way. In our lessons we will discuss technique, musicality, and practice habits.
